Fuel and Exhaust
I have completed the installation of the fuel system all the way to the throttle body. The work on the exhaust caused me to have to move the tank vents due to the way the exhaust had to route. The fuel line from the rear of the car to the front was completed at part of the frame restoration so just needed to add the connections from the prior installed line to the regulator, filter, fuel pump, and throttle body.
This pic shows the tank vents on the right and the filter/regulator lower. This is taken right in front of the fuel tank and trunk.
This pic shows where the prior installed fuel line comes up to the engine on the lower center. The silver tube. There the fuel pressure sensor is attached for the EFI system and then it goes up to the throttle body, that looks like a carburetor, where there are two redundant connection.
I also completed the installation of the exhaust system. This was quite a task, took me 3 days to complete where is should have been one. Clearances are tight and there was a lot of stuff in the way but I got er done and it looks nice.
Drivers side exhaust manifold. Here is where the manifolds are connected to the down pipes. The wide connector joins the down pipes to the main exhaust.
Here you can see the main portion of the exhaust. There is an "H" pipe connected to the engine down pipes and then the Flowmaster mufflers (Aggressive sounding) then it goes up over the axle and out the back. I got the mufflers scratched a little in my frustration with this exhaust but I will touch that up with a little black hi temp paint.
According to the schedule (updated version seen via link on the homepage) I will be working on the front-end mock up this week. I call it a mock up because it is being put together solely to check fit and get the engine ready for its first fire up. Then most of it will be disassembled prior to painting. I spent Monday this week doing some wiring underneath the car wanting to get the underside complete so I may be behind a little. We'll see.
