Its Cold Outside
Still cold here, too cold to open the garage. I need the garage open to be able to sand and paint. That's whats on my schedule. So because I can't to the sanding, I worked on a wiring project today. I put together the interior relay panel. This panel holds the relays to support the air conditioning, trunk light, and the activation of the head and parking lights by the ECU when it gets dark out.
Here's what I did:
This panel pre-wires the relays and plugs into the wiring harness via the plug at the bottom. This panel will mount above the fuse box and hopefully be accessible for removal without pulling the dash out.
Weather will be better for the rest of the week so I can get back onto the projects I need to. I need to wrap up the engine test project but need to run one more test. The engine itself has checked out to be in fine condition, but the ECU logging capability has failed. I am quite confident the the failure is because of the SD memory card I am using. It is really old, probably 10 years old and not fast enough. I have ordered newer cards to arrive tomorrow, then all I need to do it start the engine, start the log for about 15 seconds and I'm done...if it works and I am hopeful it will.
I am also out of the black rust paint we used inside the frame. I need it to spray between the metal layers of the inside of the truck. I cannot proceed with that without that paint because there is rust in there I cannot get at. I also need more stripping disks to continue with the paint stripping on the main body. I have one left that's partially used so I can do a little stripping but more will show up tomorrow also.
Until that stuff arrives I'm twiddling my thumbs. My neighber wants 2 hours of my time Friday to do a front end alignment on his car also.
Busy, Busy, Busy
It ain't easy being me
In the mean time I will cut the hole in the dash for the AC vent on the passenger side.
