Wipers

 I finally got the wipers installed today.  Had a lot of trouble with this until I figured out the wiper transmission that was in the car when I got it was for a 67 Chevelle.  Had to order a new one and then modify it because some repro parts are not that good.  This wasn't.  

Also got the cowl vent cover on.  This is a part I added as it is not part of the original 68 Chevelle.  They just leave the holes uncovered but to me it makes an unfinished look so I bought the cover.  Low and behold I had to modify it to fit.  

I have been spending loads of time working on the grill.  The grill that came on the car was damaged so I had to trash it and buy new.  Lee wants as little chrome as possible so I painted it all black.  This led to have to paint the extensions black and the eyebrow trim black.  So I have the painting all done and am just waiting to install it.  So now when its done the bumper will be chrome and there is a chome piece that goes accross the front of the header panel above the grill.  It won't look right to paint this black but I think it will all look nice in the end.

I have bad news, for me, that I don't remember it I posted before but looks like I will need to paint both the drivers and passengers quarter panels over as that darn white primer they told me to use is showing through a little.  I will probably paint both doors at the same time as they both have some minor defects I felt I could live with but may as well fix now.  At least I won't have to mask them off when I do the qtrs.  The paint is driving me batty!

We are off to Florida for Thanksgiving tonite.  Leaving here at midnite to catch the 3am train our of florance.  Be home Friday nite.   Mikayla is sick so they are going to call around 7 tomite and if she has a fever we are cancelling as I don't want to be back in the hospital.
